Sex & Nudity

severe

In the opening sequence, a woman puts a revolver in her mouth and briefly mimics oral sex on it. Full frontal and rear nudity from both main actors on several occasions. 3 sex scenes throughout with many close-ups. Bruce kisses Jane and she takes off her clothes and becomes fully naked. Her buttocks and breasts are visible. Then they jump in a pool and she takes off his shorts and his buttocks and penis are momentarily visible. They proceed to kiss each other underwater. Later Bruce kisses her breasts and legs (pubic hair clearly visible) underwater. Dr. Capa and Rose make love in a shower with Rose facing the audience and having her breasts massaged. She turns to face him and he slides his hands down her back. Bill enters her again and they move in rhythm until their climax. One of the patients in the film had been sexually molested at a young age, as had his older brother. Another patient is a sado-masochist and creates nude paintings in his spare time. Two women kiss and caress each other in a couple of scenes. From a distance we see a woman's butt on a helicopter. A person reveals a past of physical and sexual abuse from a sibling.

Violence & Gore

severe

There's a lengthy car chase in which one car tries to take out another car. The driver rams into his target's back, and the two continue to drive until one smashes into a truck, but keeps going. The target rams him a few times, and he crashes into a car's open door and a cart, ripping the door off. He then rams his side into a truck carrying several cars, and a few cars fall off onto the street, causing some crashes. A woman accidentally rams her car into another car's back on a road. A car is pushed off of a parking garage. A man has his hands nailed to a wall using a nail gun. A man is stabbed repeatedly in his office, and gets impaled in a broken window. This is very graphic and intense. A man is strangled by an unseen assailant. He is later seen hanging from a conveyor belt and it's evident that he has bled to death. Sudden and startling. A man attacks a couple with a nail gun. A woman has been beaten almost to a bloody pulp (there are bloody wounds all over her back and neck), and her hands are literally nailed to a chair. The film opens with a suicide: a woman jumps off a building. Disturbing, she is shown lying in pool of blood. This scene is crucial to the film's plot as it explains how the main character (the woman's shrink) lost his color vision - he cannot see red for the majority of the film. In the final scene, the lead female character attacks the killer with a nail gun. He comes after her, and she drives one more nail through his forehead, killing him instantly.

Profanity

severe

Language is present throughout the film. A man calls a woman a 'promiscuous cunt'. This film is VERY sexual. It contains lots of conversations about sex, references to homosexual sex, masturbation, promiscuity, lesbianism, etc. "Fuck" is used several times as a result.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

mild

Some of the characters smoke. One character admits to having used illicit drugs in the past.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

severe

The murder scenes are all very intense with an eerie build up feeling. The twist at the end (listed under Sex & Nudity) may shock some. Disturbing revelations and bizarre and sometimes violent outbursts among patients at a weekly therapy group.
