Sex & Nudity

moderate

There are sexual discussions including strong sexual dialogue throughout the film, all involving teenagers. The plot revolves around sexual situations, though most of the sexual activity is implied. The two main characters are step brother and sister. The main plot of the film is a bet made between them to which the step sister agrees to have sex with the step brother if he wins the bet. There is a sex scene between a young man and woman. There is no explicit nudity shown, only their faces and backs and him thrusting. A young man walks in on two young men having sex. They are heard moaning and when the man walks in they are seen in their underwear, but are not seen having sex or even touching each other. A young man sits in the front seat of a car and we see a young woman's head rise up from his lap (oral sex is implied). A young woman sits on a young man's lap and he caresses her shoulders, clothed breasts, and abdomen; she moves her hand towards his lap (manual stimulation is implied; they both moan pleasurably). A young man unzips a young woman's red jacket (we see her bra). He later blackmails her and pulls down her pants (we briefly glimpse her underwear), and he kneels down. She moans and the scene ends before anything can be seen. A clothed young man and woman lie in bed (it is implied that they have had sex); he goes to take a shower and she offers to join him, then offers to perform oral sex on him (she simulates oral sex with a crude gesture). A young man and a young woman kiss passionately; she unbuttons his pants and unbuttons her pajama top (no nudity is visible); the young man then leaves the room. A man is seen in his underwear after having sex and exits the scene soon after. Annette walks into the pool and accidentally sees Sebastian's buttocks. He turns around for a brief second but only his head and chest are shown. The female lead uses the promise of anal sex to goade the male lead into the bet. She hints to him what she will let him do, and places her butt in a suggestive position.

Violence & Gore

mild

Kathryn mentions that sometimes she feels suicidal. A young man pushes a young woman off a bed and she hits the floor (she is unharmed). A young woman throws a vase at a young man and it hits a door, shattering. A young woman slaps a young man twice in the face. A young man punches another young man in the face; they kick and punch each other and struggle in the street; a young woman intervenes and tries to pull one young man off the other and she rolls into oncoming traffic; one young man jumps in front of a car and is struck, rolling over the top and shattering the windshield (we see blood on his forehead and mouth and later hear that he is dead). This scene is emotional and upsetting.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

none

A young woman says she wants to kill herself sometimes. A young woman is said to be bulimic. Some emotionally intense moment due to the characters romantic relationships. A young man gets an young woman unknowingly drunk, and then coerces her to let him perform sexual acts on her. A fight scene near the end of the film and the resulting death of a main character could be intense for some viewers. The scene where Kathryn reads the journal and finds out her reputation is ruined may upset some viewers because she realizes how bad of a person she truly is.
