A deer is shot and then eaten. A woman finds a rattlesnake on her bed. The snake becomes frightened and begins shaking its tail, and a teenage boy comes into the room and shoots it. A man standing in a canoe is knocked unconscious when a boy swims under it, tipping it over as a joke. A man and a woman are hunted by dogs and later held at gunpoint by a boy. A man and woman are trapped on a farm against their will. It's implied that any previous stand-ins were murdered by Peter. The death of both real parents is talked about.
