Dian Fossey (Sigourney Weaver) is studying why the gorillas are dissapearing. She finds out they have been hunted by pochers and skinned for their fur. She visits a place where this was being done and there are many gorillas skinned completely hanging upside down. There are a few protests staged by enviromentalists, police have to use their little clubs to control the crowd. No blood is seen just a few hits. A white woman threatens to lynch a black man who poached a gorilla. He is seen standing on a chair with a noose around his neck in front of a crowd of spectators who are visibly upset. When she kicks the chair over, it is revealed that the noose wasn't tied to the tree.
