Violence & Gore

moderate

Steven vomits up a gross, formless organism, it then rolls under the bed causing it to shake. And then turns into a terrifying creature. The ghosts attack the family while in the car in the garage, a major scene shows the crescent wrenches methodically smashing the headlights. Then the car breaks through the garage door and drives away. Flashbacks of the first "Poltergeist," (the coffins coming out of the ground and the house colliding into a ball.) Wires come out of Robbie's braces and start trapping him with the wires. When Steven goes to sit down on a chair, he gets startled by lightening and is flung across the room. severe

Many "jump" scenes when the ghosts attack. The look of Kane may frighten some young viewers. The last 30 minutes are quite disturbing, emotional and intense. Diane's mother dies. We only find out when Diane's crying in the kitchen, while Steven's hugging her. Diane is in the garden, and then dead people come out of the ground and pull her in with them. But it turns out to be a dream.
