A volcano erupts, which prompts an earthquake on the island. The observation lab, perched right at the edge of the volcano's caldera, collapses into the volcano - killing all the scientists offscreen. A man clinging to a helicopter falls off to his death. A tsunami wipes out an entire town square, drowning most of everyone. A bunch of locals try to escape with the group's helicopter, but end up crashing it and dropping people in the ocean, killing them. Fireballs shoot out from the volcano and hit portions of the hotel; one person catches on fire. Several people are burned, but none of this is in graphic detail. A man falls off a mountainside gorge to his demise. His body can be seen for a moment below the gorge, but with no blood. While crossing a rickety wooden bridge, it collapses and results in several people falling off it and into the molten lava river.

While a trio of characters examine the crater inside an enclosed chamber, a magma eruption causes the chamber to nearly plummet into the lava below. The group inside is tossed around. The trio is rescued, but the bottom glass of the chamber shatters and one of the guys almost falls to his death. Anything in the "Violence and Gore" section could be considered intense for young children. Everybody dies in the hotel, when one of the fireballs from the volcano arcs toward the hotel and destroys it. The group crosses a rickety wooden bridge over a river of molten lava.
